Overview

An Alaska Native Corporation 8(a) company, ASTS is deemed socially and economically disadvantaged and eligible for the benefits allowed such companies under 13 CFR 124.112. Despite our small disadvantaged status, ASTS has the experience and resources to capably perform large contracts all over the world. Our key employees have an average of more than 20 years experience in their field. We enjoy a strong commitment from our $500 million parent corporation. This enables us to seamlessly respond to new contracts, contract scope changes, and bonding requirements to meet our clients needs.

A small business under the Small Business Administration's 8(a) program, ASTS has the advantage of bidding as a small business on contracts with applicable NAICS codes. In addition, as an Alaska Native Corporation 8(a) company, we are eligible to participate in certain government programs designed to encourage contracting with such companies.

Summarized, these programs and the advantages they provide are as follows:

  • Indian Incentive Program - 5% incentive for prime contractors who subcontract to Indian organizations and Indian-owned economic enterprises.
  • Alaska Native Corporation 8(a) companies are eligible for sole-source government contract awards per 13 CFR 142.331(b).
  • FAR 19.805-1 (b) (2) and 13 CFR 124.506(b) reconfirm Alaska Native Corporation 8(a) companies capability to directly negotiate any size contract.
